Dr. Yiching Song

Senior Research Associate and Program Head, Centre for Chinese Agricultural Policy, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), China

Yiching Song obtained her PhD in rural sociology and rural development at Wageningen University in 1998 and has held her current post at CAS since 2000. She is also a professor at China Agricultural University, Guangxi University and Jilin Agricultural University and a visiting scholar at Wageningen University. Her research focuses on sustainable agriculture, food security and rural development policies in China. Song has also acted as a key gender consultant for IFAD since 2000.

Director, Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Co. (MAHYCO), India

After obtaining a BSc from Cornell University in 2004, Barwale became an Associate Consultant for the Boston Consulting Group and later joined MAHYCO as a Business Development Facilitator. In 2007, Barwale undertook an MBa at INSEAD, before returning to MAHYCO as Director in 2008, where he has worked to develop a focused crop approach to improve R&D innovation and farmer services.

 

Dr. Rachid Dahan

Dahan received his Ph.D. in Crop Production and Physiology from Iowa State University. He has been at the INRA since 1983 and has held positions as Head of Physiology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Head of the Research Unit of Agronomy and Head of the Scientific Division of INRA. He now currently serves as Deputy Director/General Secretary of INRA Morocco. Dahan has previously served as the CGIAR Fund Council Representative of WANA and worked on steering committees at the EU IFAD Project and ACIAR Australia.

 

Dr. Ephrame Havazvidi

Group Research Manager, Seed Co., Zimbabwe 

Havazvidi received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Zimbabwe. He is a member of the Directors of Agricultural Research Council of Zimbabwe and is a guest lecturer on seed production at the University of KwaZulu Natal, RSA. Among his accomplishments he has conducted The Seed Co, Seed Agronomy Programme, oversaw all farm activities at Rattray Arnold Research Station and since 1982 has released twenty five high performing varieties of wheat that have significantly impacted wheat productivity in Zimbabwe and South African Development Community countries.
